amt. Zn supply < demand. Supply is now short after years of not mining Pb and Zn. Supplies like Sullivan are now defunct. Large scale roll front deposits like the MV type are not producing anymore. Main use are batteries and corrosion protection. Usage is for autos, outside plating. Making brass is one useage as well.
