For as long as I can remember, AOL's attitude toward customers, whether subscribers or e-commerce "partners," has been that the customer is always wrong. The biggest example, of course, was a couple of years ago when AOL went to a flat rate and got inundated with subscribers. Case said the problem was not lack of capacity but too many users--that is, the customer was the problem not the company. If a popup ad on logoff is "for its customers," I'd like to know who it is that's demanding AOL give him/her those popups.
