things just get curiouser and curiouser, don't they? <g3>

i don't think nsw would detect zonealrm and send you a security update. but the answer lies in whether or not you have 'norton internet security program updates' and/or 'norton internet security security updates' listed in your liveupdate dialog. you'll only get updates on the items shown there, i believe.

i know that symantec files do get corrupted from time to time and start acting up. my nsw liveupdate still doesn't run perfect (makes me reboot after installing new virus defs.

we may never get to the bottom of what transpired with your 'spook download'. <g>

:)
