Secretly I was hoping Obama would have let the Bush tax cuts retire. That would have been the END of the democratic party. Everyone currently paying income taxes would see their taxes go up. I think of the 47% who aren't paying their fair share because they are not paying anything would be in for a rude awakening. Before the Bush tax cuts about 25% paid no federal income tax, now it is at 47%. About 20% would find that their free ride is over. When they ask why they now have to pay imagine their surprise when the learn that the Bush tax cut was the reason they haven't been paying taxes for years.
