And here are a couple of off the wall thoughts I had.>> Number 5 was what got me to sign up on December 24, 1969 that you missed. I was in college and drew #274 in the draft, pretty safe. OTOH I found a partner who clicked at playing quarter/dime pitch card game and I realized I had skipped 3 months of college classes just to win some money at pitch. It came down to facing my father with 5 incompletes or joining the army. Cold and snowing when I walked into that office and said sargent, save my life. The college gave me all C's for enlisting.
