NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on Monday said it was offering online discounts for the Nov. 27, known as "Cyber Monday," through Dec. 1. The retailer, which has already been slashing prices all month, said it would offer additional online savings on electronics, jewelry, toys and clothing. The Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday is called cyber Monday because consumers are expected to shop online from work after perusing bargains on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. On Saturday, Wal-Mart said its November sales at stores open at least one year fell 0.1%.
