"embedded internet": there was an interesting article in the business section of today's print version of the new york times on making "superchips" by combining units like an embedded internet and other modules, then having somebody like Toshiba or VLSI put the whole thing together. The next thing I read was Wind's annual report so the section on the "embedded internet" caught my eye. This trend makes the winner-takes-all model more likely since all of the modular, superchips will likely have standard real time modules, internet modules and the like.
