Kash, OT, Yes we can certainly make an inland saline sea. I expec we may find some solutions to limitless power in 200 years? Maybe solar cells that are 82% efficient...that would do it, completely bypass the Carnot limitations, cover the deserts with solar cells. Better desalination will allow cheaper water from salt water, but the huge benfit will be gene spliced plants that grow in salt water....that will open up the huge flooded areas to cultivation. While we are about it we should tweak the human gene to get rid of useless introns, extend all telomeres indefinitely and make us full height 6", and bell all cats.
