We need to back up a little to answer this question. Walmart paid its worker $7.25 which put a family of two below the poverty level. At $15 things are far better so if we assume 40 hrs. per week and 50 weeks (two weeks for vacation) that's 2000 hrs or $30,000 a year. But again, we're talking about doubling where they were a few years ago. The biggest problem a Walmart worker has is getting sick. A single surgery will cost around $100,000. Most insurance plans pay 80% so the worker would pay $20,000 out of his own pocket and hospitals won't wait years to get paid that $20,000. Imagine a premature baby and numerous surgeries, travel to a major clinic or hospital etc. That worker would never get out of debt.

We really do need Medicare For All to fix that problem.
