Good point,

"Palm is a winning company with significant momentum and innovative solutions for wireless connectivity while also being the hub of the fast-growing Palm Economy of licensees, developers and other solution providers," Barksdale said. "I'm proud of the company's accomplishments, and confident that the success the company already has achieved is only the beginning."

I happen to really appreciate the Palm Vx. The weight, 4 oz., is perfect. In my mind the top 2 PDA products are the Palm Vx and the Compaq iPaq H3650 (found out today that mine should be in within 2-3 weeks). The store I bought it at receives about 3 units every 3-4 weeks.

The H3650 weighs 6.3 oz, which is comfortable. A device has to be light to carry around in comfort.

The more I hear via private emails, and the more I read in company statements, the more confidant I have become in Palm's new offerings.

The Palm V series has a definate benefit of looking a lot more professional, and less of a game device, than the Handspring product line.

Mark, I really believe that this stock could become the "chance of getting in on the ground floor" that you mentioned. I visit a number of stores on a regular basis to see what is selling (talking to sales reps), what products are in stock, what products are available for sale, and what Palm models are selling well -- and what the overall PDA experience is like at each store.

I go to the major players: Best Buy, Office Max, Office Depot, Computer City, etc. I have not found one store with a M100 in stock. I found 1 store today with the Palm Vx in stock. Nobody, that I have visited, has had any RIMM models. Handspring is offered at quite a few places. The iPaq models are not in stock -- period. I am a little concerned about what will happen when the iPaq's are fully stocked -- as recent news releases indicate will be done by the holiday season.

(If I remember correctly, the Palm IIIC model was offered right before the quarterly results. I wonder if the next Palm offerings will be announced right before 9/25/2000.)

Always a pleasure to hear from you mr.mark!
