UF...isn't it possible to do both? As probably the newbiest of the dummlings, I regard option cc'writing the same way I did my porfolio when I traded it parametrically -- meaning a portion of it was dedicated to ltb&h -- only I didn't know I had the beauty of writing calls to make some extra income (as well as reduce cost basis) -- and a portion was devoted to trading...and yes, I do believe it requires a whole different mind set to approach the latter--I'm sure we're all just trying to optimize returns in whatever way we can. That's the beauty of these threads -- to understand all the options available to us -- especially from the more learned crowd -- for which I am humbly grateful. Best, PoetTrader
