The first crack in USAF recruiting? USAF finally got down to their authorized end strength last month. Their recruiters did not have to replace over 16,400 folks in the past 12 months because of the reduction. To maintain their current end strength, USAF will, beginning this month, have to recruit to replace each loss. Based on similar Army numbers, I believe USAF will need some 75,000 recruits annually now to maintain strength. That is presumably 16,000 more than they recruited in the past 12 months. Is the following the first visible crack in USAF recruiting? TWT USAF has 3,608 nurses. They are going to civilianize 11% (400) of those positions because they project a nurse recruiting shortage. The general didn't say it, but this will permanently increase hazardous overseas deployments by 11% for those remaining on active duty. uw Clip...
