CPTAQ's mandate is to protect agricultural land, CCB failed to convince local citizens to get behind their mining venture and the law says it is their representatives decision to make. I'm sure there is an appeal process, CCB better get on it before Chief and Sue kill whatever support exists with their threats.

The Commission for the Protection of Agricultural Land in Quebec (CPTAQ) was created in 1978 under the Agricultural Land Protection Act, which has since become the Act Respecting the Protection of Agricultural Land and Agricultural Activities (LPTAA). The CPTAQ also administers the Law on the Acquisition of Agricultural Land by Non-Residents (LATANR). Its mission is to guarantee future generations a territory conducive to the exercise and development of agricultural activities.
