Options dilution and the drain from carrier investments legitimately remain on the table in the great QCOM valuation debate, but IMHO one issue (which incidentally was the issue initially and repeatedly harped upon by Dipy and friends) has been disposed of as of yesterday, or at the latest will be disposed of at the April cc. That issue is growth. It looks as if the 1X gravy train is already insulating QCOM from any lingering weakness in 2 G wireless, and that this trend accelerates from here with wider 1X uptake around the world. I do think John has raised an interesting point about options and others have about the drain from carrier investments; enough so that they warrant my attention IMHO. But the argument that this is a high p/e stock with no real growth prospects is one soon to be, if not already, put to bed by actual events and actual numbers.
