I think Corel should continue to focus its efforts and direct energy, ingenuity, resources towards a few critical projects. I believe that they have started this strategy. Corel needs to carve out its niches and promote its areas of speciality. I see the purchase of Diba as a positive development for Corel for several reasons 1. Sun continues to expand its commitment and resources to the successful implementation of Java. 2. Diba's areas of expertise do not appear to be in direct competition with Corel...in reality their "tools" may very well be of great use to Corel! 3. Corel and Sun already have some kind of a working relationship with the development of Java and Wordperfect. 4. Sun could very well use many of the software products that Corel has developed....video conferencing, Corel Draw, Photohouse etc. Think of the positive implications. We need to come up with an acronym to supplant FUD fear, uncertainty, dread! A quick offering might be POP people oriented programs!
