What phones are offered on ZAPP?

I might mention a couple of other things. I did come back from in last few days ago, from Bucharest, in Romania, and their first 1X system is up and running at 450 Mhz and It was kind of fun, I went into the office of the Ministers and on his desk he had his computer cabled over to one of ZAPP's phones and was running it a much higher data rate than he could get over the wire. They are getting, fairly consistently about 150 Kbits per second the present phone generation provides. The next ones will go to 300 and higher. And so, it was kind of fun to see that. The service also worked as far as voice was concerned exceeding well. So we have that first penetration of 1X technology into Europe at this point.
Also, I don't know if it got stressed or not, but at the Cannes conference, we had Brew operating, not only over 1X and 1XDVDO but also over GPRS. And so, the capability to provide these applications across many platforms, and of course, we will be demonstrating shortly over UMTS. So the intent with Brew is not to limit it to any particular air interface but to have it available over whatever data air interface people are using. It is going to be an exciting time looking ahead, We are of course, anxious to see KDDI launch, we are looking forward to the expanded launches here in the US and North America and other parts of the world on 1X technology and looking to seeing how the world reacts to see 1XDVDO in Korea at the world cup game. |
