Richard, I never take information dispersed in this fashion very
seriously. I received a "tip" about a potential merger about two
weeks ago on another stock. My bet is someone is trying to use the
thread to start a baseless rumor. Let's look at it logically, NCI
bought Navio, NCI has an in-force agreement with WIND, NCI is still
NCI, so how would Navio's merger with NCI void NCI's deal with WIND?
Secondly, WIND has not, to my knowledge, been doing one-time license
deals for a couple of years, particularly were there is potential for
large volume. This is not something I know for a fact, because WIND
does not discuss these details, but conversations with Allen have
lead me to this conclusion. Unless your "source" is willing to step
forward and identify himself and show some concrete basis for his
assertions, I wouldn't give this much credence. Why on earth would
WIND cut a deal with someone as large as Intel (I2O) and receive a
per-copy royalty, and more, and then turn around 6 months later and
give VxWorks away for a one-time charge to an upstart like Navio?
Doesn't add up for me!
