"for the record, I believe that a private business has the absolute right to say "we do not allow firearms in our establishment. Perfectly reasonable request." I remember that issue coming up when the concealed carry law went into effect in Missouri. Yes establishments had that right. But from a legal perspective there was no penalty if anyone was caught doing it. All they could do was ask you to leave. The other problem is the weapon is concealed so how would they know who was carrying a gun and who isn't. In Florida the only buildings I have been in that prohibits weapons are federal government offices. The mayor in the city I live in recently tried to prohibit weapons in city hall. It went to court and the judge ruled that state law took preference over local law. People with a concealed carry permit can have a gun in city hall. The liberal media doesn't seem very supportive of the law. articles.sun-sentinel.com
