TimF, Phoenix taxpayers spend millions of dollars to pay full salary and benefits for city employees to work exclusively for labor unions, a Goldwater Institute investigation found.

Collective bargaining agreements with seven labor organizations require the city to pay union officers and provide members with thousands of additional hours to conduct union business instead of doing their government jobs.

The role of the professional business negotiator is to know the rules and tactics of bargaining. My role as a union negotiator was to get the best possible collective bargaining package for our members and the union. Managements role was to maintain the terms and conditions favorable to the stockholders, management, the public sector, or business. I was amazed that some management had a lack of what in labor relation is called, "The Management Right Clause."

Sometimes, if management and labor have an adversary one rather than a win-win approach, management and the organization must take a work stoppage until the "emotional and pain loss " forces the members and labor to settle.

Again, unless there are issues created by management, the unions normally have no reason to form a union. It is next to impossible for unions to form unless there are issues to organize around.
