Hi quehubo; Re: "Go ahead and blame Bush if it feels good ..."

A wasted insult.

Re: " ... but terrorists have known the value of destroying oil production facilities."

They obviously haven't targeted them much before this. The oil pipelines, in particular, are quite open to attack. It seems that you're assuming that terrorists can't learn. History shows that they didn't learn the art and science of suicide bombing until quite recently, and they are still making modest improvements to the technology. History shows that they didn't learn the art and science of plane suicide bombing until recently. History shows that they haven't learned the art and science of blowing up pipelines until this past year, and only God knows where it will be applied next.

Re: "Saddam used the oil weapon for years."

This is ahistorical nonsense. Saddam has had his oil exports restricted for years. The people who ran the 1973 oil campaign against us were largely the Saudis. Here's a little reminder from the BBC:

...
Saudi Arabia then orchestrated an Arab oil embargo which threatened to extend the conflict into a full-scale superpower confrontation.

Those who are ignorant of the past are doomed to repeat it.

Re: "Your consider Iraq a training ground for terrorists, Afghanistan as well?"

I supported the Afghan incursion, but it's looking bad as time goes on. Most of our forces there were pulled out in order to fight the Iraq fiasco, and the example of dishonor and duplicity given by Bush in Iraq has hurt our ability to maintain alliance with the forces on our side in Afghanistan. These things are connected, and can't be analyzed as separate wars.

Re: "Reality shows something closer to a program to deliver to Allah those who are attracted to the beacon of hope developing in Iraq."

This is just the latest neocon strategy, not for winning the war on terror, but instead merely to excuse the farce to the American public. It's like when a cat trips and then pretends that it had planned to fall over all along.

Before the war, they were saying that the war was going to go so well that the Arab hot heads would be disheartened, give up, and make peace with Israel. It is already obvious that this is a pipe dream, a fantasy, an example of wishful thinking, just like the wholesale ignorance of the simple facts of history. The Arabs generate hot heads far faster than they can be killed. And we cannot afford the losses.
