Wise move, Phil.
Apple is going nowhere with Amelio at the helm. His only interest is trying to keep Apple afloat, or make it appear to be afloat, until he can cash in on his options. Gil only worries about Gil.
This is exactly the same tact he used at Fairchild.
Once he has his money he will desert Apple like a rat(apropriate analogy) leaving a sinking ship.
