Under Trump’s Immigration Rules, His Own Grandfather Would Have Been Deported

Under Trump’s rules, Trump’s grandfather would have been considered an ‘unaccompanied alien child’.

[ Can we make this retroactive and deport all the Trump kin? ]

Friedrich Trump, grandfather to President Donald Trump, immigrated to the U.S. over a hundred years ago as an unaccompanied minor according to Newsweek. Under Trump’s policies, his grandfather would have been considered an ‘unaccompanied alien child.’ Today, those who fit this description are rapidly deported.

More, Friedrich Trump, who would have been undergoing an expedited removal process unless he had a family member in the country who could be his guardian, would have had to wait in one of Trump’s detention centers.

Friedrich arrived in the U.S. during 1885, during a huge wave of German immigration.

After he had spent many years in the U.S., Friedrich wanted to move himself and his family back to Bavaria. Unfortunately, he was denied entry.

In a letter to Prince Regent Liutpold, Trump raged about not being allowed back in. He wrote, “Why should we be deported? This is very, very hard for a family. What will our fellow citizens think if honest subjects are faced with such a decree- not to mention the great material losses it would incur.
