Factually incorrect again. Bernie does indeed see free trade as a bad thing. He's an avowed Communist and most recently has rebranded himself as a Socialist. He does not believe in Capitalism. Trump is an avowed Capitalist. However, he believes in trade reciprocity. Unfortunately, the US has been taken advantage of for many decades. We have the lowest tariffs and trade restrictions in the world, but the rest of the world has imposed much higher tariffs, value added taxes, and duties on our goods as we import them into their countries. This has acted as a multi-trillion dollar transfer of wealth to other countries. Trump recognizes this and has started to fight back with increased tariffs, but is willing to bring those tariffs back down, if the other countries will engage in reciprocal trade and rules with us.

It's really quite simple. If you charge me 10% tariffs to import my goods into your country, but I charge you 100% tariffs for you to import your goods into mine, then I am cheating you out of money and I am engaging in predatory business practices. You would be within your rights and it would be fair for you to ask me to lower my tariffs to 10% or retaliate by raising yours to 100%. That is simply called reciprocity. That is what Trump is doing.
