Ray,
I don't speak "Schwiezerdütsch" just "Hochdeutsch" ao I can only offer the latter variant:

The more things change, the more they remain the same..
-> Je mehr sich Dinge ändern desto weniger ändert sich
-> Je mehr sich Dinge ändern desto mehr bleiben sie gleich

(both versions are correct, #1 is more elegant, #2 is a more direct translation)

thx for giving the lobbying background of the 2 congressmen..

BTW: you won't believe it but someday I really love to pose as the "customer from hell" especially versus monopoly like entities:

Months ago my cable MSO (Chello/UPC) started to convert subscribers from analog to digital. Since I have a strong resent to any pay per view enabling platform (while I find pay tv ok) I really didn't want that gear, even not for free. Nor would I use all that stuff, using basic cable plus Internet access (enough time consuming). Then I realized that supporting "legacy" analog basic cable customers like me gives an extra "cost" to their infrastucture and I thought to myself that one day they might have to make me a better offer if they wanted to finally drop the analog support. Well I'm still waiting but as fresh cash from Liberty Media will be plowed into UPC and Chello I'm pretty sure they would like to "convince" me in the coming months. HeHe.. Can only say "raise your offers"
