IMO, most of these guys are NOT looking for a relationship. Most probably still care about their wife, family, etc... and have a pretty perfect life except for in the bedroom. There, they are probably bored because they've been married to same person for so long and the passion died. They actually don't want to change a thing except that they want that passion, variety, spice etc.... back in their lives. If they get involved in a serious relationship with the type of woman you are referring to, the marriage is done. That's not what they really want otherwise they'd just get a divorce. Divorce could also be a problem politically. So they have a cheap fling, pay for a whore, etc.. hoping not to get caught and have the best of both worlds.
It's self centered and in some cases self destructive behavior.
