RE: "QOQ Product Revenue information for Sun. As you said:
Q101 4,242
Q400 4,327 Flat sequentially
Previous Product Revenues:
Q300 3,429
Q200 2,997
Q100 2,668
Q499 3,047
Q399 2,547
Q299 2,403
Note that last year, product revenues were actually down from Q499 to Q100. ...I'm interested in what you think, or what Tony, GVT and others think about the numbers. This may seem off topic but we all know Intel is going after Sun's market so it isn't entirely irrelevant."

Hi Dmf,

I think Sun is on topic.

At first glance, it appears the numbers could potentially demonstrate the Server market is growing strong enough to absorb both Sun and Intel. However, the margin pressure on Sun could imply that Sun's Server margins are being challenged due to the presence of Intel-based Servers in the market. More information is needed, before a conclusion could be reached.

The improvement of Q4 over Q1 for this year, could be related to Sun's new markets (Sun is good at finding new markets), but more information is needed. I would be curious if the down trend in Q1 over Q4 (that occurred in 1999) was existent in the prior years.

Regards,
Amy J
