As for open systems and Novell as strange companions ... they have no choice and they know it. Novell will support and interoperate with open systems. MSFT has a different agenda ... any 'open' system as long as it's Windows based! It's MSFT's policy of 'embrace and extend' extended to now be 'engulf and destroy' ... even their partners. MSFT customers are treated like 'sheep lead to slaughter' ... whenever they want to buy something from a supplier other than MSFT that turns into some real market prescence, MSFT targets the other supplier to undermine their market position, when they're not able to offer serious competition to MSFT anymore, MSFT gets some monopoly pricing power ... and jacks up the customer costs.

Sooner or later, the customers will notice and take their money to buy genuine open systems. Only a little marketing effort from Novell will be enough to make some serious revenue ... the FUD effect from MSFT and folks that want to 'short NOVL' (you?) can't be maintained on false and misleading information for much longer.

Maybe it's time to cover your shorts? ... maybe even time to buy more NOVL. I think I'll check to see if I can get a few more shares for myself.
