DDR is also less efficient at maximizing its potential bandwidth. Ideally, PC800 RDRAM would have shown an "effective bandwidth" which is equivalent to PC2100 DDR SDRAM, depending on the benchmark.

DDR, however, demonstrates slightly lower latency, which helps in all benchmarks which isn't limited by memory bandwidth (i.e. most benchmarks). I also know that Intel's current chipsets need to juggle the power states of the RDRAM devices, which raises RDRAM's latency even more.
