I think the gold discussion should remain on the GPM thread for this time.

I'm no fan of gold at this time though.. But I am a big fan of Govt T-Bills.

Gold overall though does very well in periods of great inflation (which we really don't have globally), or when there is financial systemic risk (like with the LTCM crisis last fall).

These are the best threads I've seen for discussing the pros and cons of the gold market.
