I was too young back then to remember Truman's advisers but I do remember reading in the newspaper as President Eisenhower sent 50 "adviser" to vietnam. I think it was after the french threw in the towel and left their Indo China. Truman may have been advising the French but Eisenhower was advising the Vietnemese.
