If so, that's highly irresponsible, because gay men are not the only carriers of that? Is it a fact that the ARC pays still for blood donations? That really attracts the highest quality of donors, doesn't it? I guess the cash strapped poor and homeless (who you no doubt want to cut off from their food stamps), are motivated to make ends meet by donating blood. These are also the drug-users looking for quick cash for their next fix. These are the HIV/Hep C carriers too. Sparing the expense of screening through a flimsy discriminatory policy is immoral at best. Yep, just as I expected, you think we ought to be taking blood donations from sexually active gays, regardless of the risk to public health. Thats exactly the type of thinking that needlessly infected thousands of innocent Canadians with HIV and hepC.
