Persistence Software's PowerTier Application Server Plays Key Role in Mapping Human Genome

PowerTier(TM) Powers PE Biosystems' 3700 DNA Analyzer Used By Celera And Other Leading Genomic Researchers
Persistence Software (Nasdaq:PRSW), The Engine For E-Commerce(TM), today announced that its PowerTier application server plays a significant role in the high-performance PE Biosystems (NYSE:PEB) gene profiling system used by Celera Genomics and the publicly funded international effort to sequence the human genome.
PE Biosystems, Celera Genomics' sister company and the leading supplier of gene sequencing systems to genomic researchers, uses the PowerTier application to provide the object-relational mapping layer for the ABI PRISM(R) 3700 DNA Analyzer. A breakthrough system capable of generating gene sequencing data at unprecedented rates, the 3700 DNA Analyzer processes and presents massive volumes of complex gene expression experimental results. Well over 1,000 3700 DNA Analyzers have already shipped to customers as diverse as the USDA and leading pharmaceutical drug companies.
