<<<It's all a bunch of cost-shifting inside a giant game of whack-a-mole, I fear. Solve a problem in one part of the country and it may bring a new problem to another part. Very discouraging.>>>

One thing is clear. The health care system in our country is broken. We spend twice as much money as any other industrialized country and the results are no better and perhaps slightly worse.

Yet more than 47 million people do not have health care insurance. The actual number is closer to 80 million people without health care insurance. Worse, there are many more underinsured who are also cut off from medicaid.

It is very discouraging that there are people against the attempt to reform this system. Given what we have in existence, it is impossible to make the system perfect. There are too many people with vested interests to keep the system going as it is where a very large number of people are suffering.

If Obama does not get reform enacted, the suffering will continue and get worse.
