That's a nice sentiment, and one shared by many people, but I don't really believe the world works that way Karen. Very few people *know* with any degree of certainty whether they will be good, bad or outstanding parents. And the process of parenthood is one filled with self-doubt, learning from the school of hard knocks, and constant growth of love and change from within.

Selfish people want all the answers for parenthood to be perfectly set up in advance. For most people, the real world doesn't work that way, and our culture should embrace the next generation, not look at it as some sort of societal burden.

It's the difference between having a worldview which is optimistic or pessimistic. Liberals are typically pessimistic people, they view having children as a glass half-full. Instead, they should be viewed as our future, a wonder of nature and a gift from God.

That pessimistic worldview impacts their motivation toward passing legislation which is narcissistically linked.
