Steve, I apologize for that remark. The tone of your previous post ("someone & Co") switched me automatically into defensive mode against regular Intelopers who were recently very annoying.

Getting to your points, your formula "No $$ = no new fab plant/equipment = failure of the company." is only partially correct. You can borrow money for the fab/equipment if you have a sound product with sufficient market recognition. Unfortunately, I think the K6 is selling well ONLY due to it's current price. The current K6 has partially handicapped FPU and a quick cut for MMX, and therefore it cannot compete with Pentiums in few areas - nonaccelerated 3D games and picture processing. This does not allow for claims of global performance superiority in marketing of K6, and therefore the selling point is the price only. In this situation, I believe that the AMD long-term strategy is right. The glitch in revenue this quarter is a temporal problem, and coming 0.25K6+/100 will solve performance deficiencies.
