Staccato hammers out golden tune.

May 9, 2006) - Staccato Gold Resources Ltd. CAT/TSXV is pleased to announce that it has received assay results from ALS Chemex for core holes BH-06-06 and BH-06-07 from the core drilling program on the Lookout Mountain portion of Staccato's 100% owned South Eureka project on the southern extension of the Cortez Trend, Nevada. The 2006 program continues to meet its objectives of extending high-grade breccia-hosted gold mineralization southward along strike from BH-05-01 and laterally to the west. The eastern limits of the gold deposit appear to have been partially defined.

Drill hole BH-06-07 (-90 degrees) intersected four mineralized zones, including 95.5 feet (29.1 meters) of 0.218 opt (7.49 g/tonne) hosted by oxidized and brecciated jasperoid between 406 and 501.5 feet depth (123.8 to 152.9 meters). BH-06-07 is located approximately 130 feet (39.6 meters) west of BH-05-02 (-90 degrees) and demonstrates that the main high-grade zone of gold mineralization thickens westward from 25 feet of 0.196 opt in BH-05-02 to 95.5 feet of 0.218 opt in BH-06-07.
