I saw that cover and read part of the article. The cover picture and the article gave me a lot of faith in our country, despite its many critics.

Did you see the line where the cadet said goodbye to his girlfriend because the relationship was interfering with his ability to devote everything he had to being a great leader? Now that's sacrifice, eh?

I'm in awe of these people, particularly since I would be totally unsuited to the military career myself. I'm glad we have such people.

I wish our corporations and other government agencies would devote as much time to teaching leadership as we see in the military academies. I see other federal agencies spend a lot of their energy on making everybody happy, which they don't, but very little on leadership. I suspect the same is true of corporations.

Some time ago there was a cover on Forbes (I think--or a similar business oriented magazine). The caption read something like "The Best Corporate Training in the World." In the picture, a United States Marine Corps officer.
