The iditarod has already been run. They didn't have enough snow this year and had to change the course. I am not a fan of sled dog racing as the dogs are tied up too much and they cull them! As far as bears go we have a ton of them. We have many miles of beautiful bike paths many of which run right through the forests. I have to be a little careful when the salmon are running up stream riding my bike. I usually see about two bears a year, but most of them are blackies which we don't really worry about. They look like dogs from afar-lol. Once in awhile I will run across a brown grizzly bear and they can be dangerous.
