My 9 year old daughter has a basic $300 Windows Dell notebook.

It is on a screen which says:

BitLocker

Enter Recovery key to get going again (Keyboard Layout US).

(and then there is a box where presumably we are supposed to enter the Recovery Key)

Below the box it says "Recovery Key ID (to identify your key): and then a long string of characters.

I have tried entering the string of characters in the box, but the letter keys don't work.

To my knowledge we never requested BitLocker service and never installed BitLocker.

Reading online there is information about how to find your Recovery Key online, it's stored somewhere in the Microsoft Account.
To my knowledge she has no Microsoft Account.

Does anyone have any suggestion where she can find the Recovery Key, or how we can remove BitLocker from the PC?
