In AXC's 2Q 10Q they plainly state that they had been applying keeper layers to sample media from 1 foreign and 3 domestic media manufacturers under a non disclosure agreement. Then they went on to add that they were also being supplied by Stormedia and IBM, with which they obviously didn't have a non-disclosure agreement. There it is for you, 6 month old news.
HOLD IT, those of you who are ASSUMING this layer IBM is talking about last week. We don't know that it's NOT KM yet, nothing was said and I don't know if anyone would even know in IR at either place. Besides the uncertainty, this disk is for production at least 4 to 5 years off. If it is KM, that's a great future revenue stream, if it's a competitor, AXC can sue IBM to delay, or it's impact will be deferred for many years. Please look at the posts surrounding the announcement, they'll tell ya'll more of the same. WE JUST DON'T KNOW, but either way, it's not affective to AXC for many years, either enormously positive, or negatively. As to the low price, well, I just chalk it up to waiting for another announcement. |
