I met Reinhart once. He was the owner of some cabins near the Chesterville mine southwest of Timmins. He had got them when the mine owner went bankrupt and could not pay his drillers. Some facets of that play he did tell me that he will be released shortly. I certainly hope so. Otherwise it is a very noble sacrifice. I don't think you can get behind the mind set of those rebels. They don't trust the Columbian gov't which of course is totally corrupt so I don't blame them. But in their own way, their ideals are corrupted by the grim impracticality of their eternal war. If they had popular support and numbers they could have had their socialist demands met by revolution, but I think those days are gone. So they end up preying on poor working stiffs like Norbert and marginal companies like Terramundo. The gov't obviously does not have the will or facilities to try to rescue him. From here it is hard to tell those rebels from cocaine bandits. I guess bandits who exploited drugs would not need the money. But maybe it is not about money. Who knows? Any way Reinhart will be the hero here no matter what, which mutes the voice of any ideal the rebels might have had. Unless their cynicism is divorced from any sort of virtue and they arrogantly intend to harm the very people who would help them, they should see that these companies are far from the capitalist tyrants they feel oppress them. I would agree that people are ripped off and oppressed but their is surely some more honourable means of achieving justice.
