The Mind Of Rove

By DJ Drummond

Chris Muir has been having some fun, showing Karl Rove as a man with nothing to do but daydream, since the Democrats are doing his work for him. So, last week what happens but Rove makes a few comments, pointing out some of the more embarrassing and obvious Democrat positions and comments since 9/11. Democrats reacted with outrage, demanding apologies, resignations, all the things they themselves owe but won’t provide.

The problem for the Democrats, is not only that the charges against them are demonstrably true, but that they really have no effective response. Democrats can claim many qualities, but ‘insightful’ and ‘effective’ are not words which come to mind in regard to national-office elections. 2006 is much closer for the Democrats than the Republicans, and everyone knows it.

So, the salient question running around in my mind is not what Rove said or whether it is true. Those points have been answered and then some, more grief for the Left.

The question in my mind is why Rove made those statements.

In political matters, Rove has perfect instincts and is careful to avoid errors. So, it seems to me the comments by Rove were made for one of the following possible reasons:

[] With the Democrats returning to their filibuster games so soon after promising (in theory) to give nominees a chance for a clean vote, Rove wanted to remind Americans about the character of the Party from France, in order to help John Bolton.

[] The Supreme Court is about to have one, possibly two vacancies. The Democrats are certain to employ every smear tactic they have to prevent the best people from getting into those seats. Rove wants to make sure those tactics are known for what they are before that happens.

[] Smack-downs of Dean and his crew are just too much fun to resist.

[] The Democrats are doing Rove’s job for him, so he felt left-out. This is just something to do until the Democrats come to their senses. Uhhh, presuming that the Democrats eventually do come to their senses.

What do you think? What is the game plan from the Rove Empire?
