Or, about 31 times the World GDP. It's notional, though, not
real, or so they say, so don't worry about this number.
The real market value of these dangerous securities is
only 14 Trillion (and that includes the value of very
leveraged instruments, such as options), which is equal to US
GDP. So, literally, a large failure of a counterparty (LEH)
can cause a trillion dollar damage? Just as we have seen?
