Brad and all, Direct figerprinting to replace passwords? "Identicator Technology developed Digital fingerprinting using a process of placing a thumb on a glass lens and digitally comparing to thousands in file in under a second. Compaq has begun shipping a finger printing ID set for $99 based on Identitor's technology. Competitor's are swarming into finger print identification business with the leader being Identix (IDX) which sells systems to law enforcement agencies. Sales last year were 145 million and expected to increase to 1 Billion by 2001. ATN is considering recommending Identix (IDX) and invite reader comment." atlthnl.com steve
