IDX has a far superior performance record in the industry and this is well known in law enforcement. When DBII was thrown out of San Antonio and San Bernardino and replaced with IDX the results are passed along in police meetings etc. Add to their superior products, IDX has in place a far larger and better supported sales force. Now you have the reason that they get 80% of the business. In Ohio we have probably placed about 100 new IDX 10 printers. One county was very positive it wanted DBII and it bought one. Now they are unable to interface with the AFIS system in the State Capital and are in a quandary of what to do.
No one gets all the business in any industry. But as long as IDX is getting over 50%, I have a hard time worrying about the competitors. --Always concerned --buy never worry.
