Back in circa 1996, I had already heard of this global warming sea level increase so I made sure I bought a house above 100ft above sea level... actually is was way more then that. If I am right hopefully they learned something. Many of these people I spoke to are now passed on. God bless them. Instead of buying a house at above 300 ft above mean sea level, I am now looking at beach front property. If the sea had risen by the 5cm as reported in 40 years, putting a stick in the ground would have been a waste of time, the beach moves all the time, and the sea would have wrecked any markers in a short period of time. The increase of just 5 cm would have had a massive effect on storm damage though , and those houses would not be existing any more. They are still there. so there is no "denier" here. I am an "acceptor" . On venus I expect the venutions have to deal with protesters who say the the planets going to cool because of 400 ppm of sulphuric acid going into the atmosphere, while more steady minds say the 97% CO2 at 93 bar at ground level is going to keep the temp just right at a comfortable 700 deg C. I have no plans of being drowned. If I think the sea level is going to rise, I will do something about it. The environment does need protecting, it's just a matter where we put our limited resources. Nature is way more powerful then us. After all this time, I read what Crichton said with more respect for what he said back then. I dont mind admitting when I am wrong, it's an easy price to pay once new knowledge is gained.
