OT, re: TiVO A friend and I have been working on this for a while with mixed progress. (His works but I have stalled for the moment.) I would do a lot of reading before ordering and make sure the parts will play nice with each other. I went with the Snapstream/Hauppauge PVR250 bundle. The TV cap card has HW encoding so the CPU load for recording is zero. HW encoding is very desirable since it reduces the CPU load. However, this card refused to install in two integrated graphics motherboards and one discrete motherboard before I finally found it a nice home. I would suggest working backwards from the PVR software to the hardware components. -PT
