TRW has a very cool R&D on biometrics. Probably hasn't gotten a lot of press (yet?). I wanted to work in that group but wasn't allowed to since I was 'dirty' (I'd seen the cogent source code). But the work they have done is quite fascinating. I don't recall whats public and proprietary in terms of alliances, products, and stuff, so I won't say much else about that group. TRW is basically an integrator. WE take other's products add some value and then sell it to the customer. There are things that could be done to improve the NAFIS project but I don't think this is the place to discuss that (after all this is the idx thread)...
