I need not do any such thing. I need only recognize that if we don't ration we will blow the budget.

What budget? There is no budget. You post as if healthcare is a right. It is a good and a service. Who cares if an insurer goes bankrupt because they chose to cover more conditions than there actuary contemplated? Another company would pick up the plan and modify it suitably.

I don't see how you could possibly think you are exercising fiscal restraint by paying claims indiscriminately.

Half of us have our medical bills paid for my the government. That is a fact.

It is not a fact. If you want to have rationed care, then more power to you. My father has been on medicare for over thirty years. Medicare coverage doesn't have any impact on his health care, it merely affects how his providers report it.

We can't abolish Medicare and Medicaid. So rationing it in some way is the only choice for fiscal conservatives.

Point out when I have ever proposed abolishing these programs. Just because a subset of our elders are impacted by bad government policies does not mean the rest of us need to become subjects of the healthcare rulers.
