 Dr. Peter Schultz, Co-Inventor of Optical Fiber is Named Vice Chairman of Geltech
 
 ORLANDO, FL- February 16, 2000- Geltech, Inc., an advanced optical component manufacturer, announced today that Dr. Peter Schultz has been elected and will immediately assume the responsibility as Vice Chairman. Dr. Schultz has been a member of Geltech's board of directors since 1993. He was instrumental in the acquisition of Geltech's precision molded optics product line from Corning Inc. in 1994 and the strategic positioning of the company in the rapidly growing telecommunications industry.
 
 Dr. Schultz, is President of Heraeus Amersil, Inc., a $200 million technical glass manufacturer specializing in fiber optics and semiconductor markets. Following graduation from Rutgers University (BS 1964, Ph.D. 1967), he co-developed the world's first practical glass optical fiber for communications. This accomplishment led to his induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame (one of only 20 living inventors inducted). Dr. Schultz holds 26 patents, has written over 20 research papers and has taught at Cornell University, George Washington University and University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
